Shocker Of The Century: Pittsburgh Declared One of The Worst Dressed Cities in America

A friend passed along a recent GQ article to me, ranking the worst dressed cities in America. Naturally Pittsburgh was ranked quite highly on the list, frankly not high enough. Coming in at a cool #3, Pittsburgh represents jerseys (and not even pretty ones at that), poorly cut blue jeans and a variety of over sized, puffy and dark cold weather garments.

Of course, the steel city deserves its spot but the list has to be taken with a grain of salt. Manhattan found its way in the top five and more shockingly San Francisco in the top ten. Everything about San Francisco is perfect and pretty much should never be criticized, even if we do tend to rock the Northfaces a bit too frequently…

Apple of my Eye

Anddddddddd we’re back.

I’m officially finished slaving to the fashion gods and now it’s time for more important things likemaking fun of people’s terrible outfits passing along all of my fashion thoughts on to you!

On my mind right now? Fruit! Nothing says summer like a delicious bite of watermelon, or perhaps an even more delicious watermelon martini.

Check out these fruit inspired products:

This is an apple carrier. Yes you read me correctly. Not a purse, not a clutch but an apple carrier. So necessary! Created by none other than Hermes, retailing for a mere $365.

And now for a slightly more realistic option. Jeffrey Campbell shoes

Take a Seat

There is nothing that pains me more than throwing away (recycling) magazines. All of the blood, sweat and tears that go into the glossies shouldn’t just be abandoned because each photograph has been admired and word read. I’ve been known to transport magazines on international flights because I simply cannot leave them behind, seriously. Magazines are heavy, take up a ton of space and add to the clutter factor in any room. I am starting to drown in back issues…And then I stumbled upon this from Apartment Living! How fabulous!

Giddy Up

A few weeks ago I got my wasp on and attended my first ever Polo Match. It was one of the most amazing spectacles I’ve ever witnessed… hats, pastels and more Ralph Lauren than I ever thought possible. I dressed the part and wore a sweet heart pastel yellow maxi dress from French Connection, paired with Anne Taylor chunky necklace. Oh, and the event was sponsored by Veuve Clicquot. Cheers!

Fashion Gets (Environmentally) Friendly

I shopped around Gap Body a few days ago (excellent sale, woo!) and was very pleasantly surprised when I checked out and was offered a receipt via e-mail. Before this, I thought only Apple stores offered this service but it turns out the fashion world is catching on.

Which is amazing for so many reasons. Can you imagine a world without obnoxious little white receipts floating around everywhere? Not having to rip apart your apartment and searching for a receipt to return that heinous blouse (what were we thinking?) all while reducing our environmental footprint. Lovely.

Hot or Hot Mess: Platform Sandals

We’ve been seeing these featured in magazines and promoted in stores for a few months, but now that the weather has gotten better I’ve spotted a bunch of platform sandals buzzing around town. I’m not entirely convinced either way. At times I can’t help but think they look a bit funny.
