Consignment Stores = LOVE

I decided to “consign” some of my clothes this past week. Although I’ll have to wait and see if they sell, I’ve been really impressed with the process thus far. More than anything else, I think it’s a great concept. I decided my over-flowing closet was just too much; I also decided to give away and donate some clothes. Although it was painful, some of my pieces just weren’t receiving adequate attention and love anymore. I dropped off a bunch of my clothes, and several made the cut and ventured to the floor.

And of course, when I dropped off my clothes I had to shop around, right? May as well help a fellow consigner. I found a Burberry beauty-cropped red jacket, pictures to come soon!

Seriously marked down of course. This consignment store is my new happy place. For any Bay Area readers, let me recommend Repetere in Los Altos for your shopping needs. There’s a lot of great stuff at a variety of different price ranges. Happy Shopping!

Gucci

I find this to be one of the most compelling ads I’ve ever seen. Hot shoes? Check. Dishy Man? Check. Sexy Legs? Check. Gucci always brings their A game with advertisements. But this one, I love.

My Least Favorite Look

Natalie Portman, you are beautiful.

You were absolutely amazing in Black Swan (even though I wish I would have known what I was getting myself into before seeing it). And, congratulations on your pregnancy. But was that pink sack at the golden globes completely necessary?

As soon as I saw this gown, I thought for sure everyone would hate it as much as I did. It made several worst dressed lists but to my complete and utter surprise, she also made some of the best dressed lists. This was probably my least favorite look of the entire evening; just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you have to look large and in charge. Before she announced in her acceptance speech that she was pregnant, I was actually having an argument with someone. My mother tried to tell me it was just an unflattering cut, but you know what? She had a point. I also found the rose seriously ugly and tacky (although I did appreciate the stunning red lip that matched it). But that’s fashion folks, some love certain looks, others can’t stand them.

Green With Envy

A lot of fashion critics have already started discussing Angelina's Versace green dress. I thought she looked absolutely stunning. For me, she pulled off those green sequins:

Dreaming of Summer

Even though it’s a frigid 50 degrees out, I’m dreaming of sundresses, sandals, and stockingless-legs. I’m ready for bright colors, pool parties and summertime bbqs. But for now, I’ll pass the time scouring designer’s spring collections for the must have pieces. I recently bought a Betsey Johnson swimsuit:

Before this, I hadn’t purchased a swimsuit for at least four years so it was time. Here are some other suits I’m loving right now:

Louis Vuitton
Diane Von Furstenberg
Red Carter
Thayer
Mikoh

Leotards

I’ve been seeing a whole bunch of leotards around lately. I was at first skeptical thinking back to my ballet days. Leotards are incredibly unforgiving of any flaw whatsoever. But I think they can actually look pretty good on the right person. Rather than dealing with awkwardly tucked shirts, leotards (“tards” as one my best friends likes to phrase it) lie flat and perfect underneath high-waisted skirts.

Here’s my friend (more importantly her hot bod) rocking a leo(tard). I cropped out her head to give her some privacy, but she looks so good I really shouldn’t hide it.

This tard is from H&M and she also purchased a black lace one. Both look great.

Elie Tahari

Eli Tahari is one of my favorite designers. His clothes are carried in several stores and online but for there are less than 10 Eli Tahari stores in the United States. Of course, one is in vegas!

I made my friend try on this stunning dress. It wasn't super practical, but turned out to be one of the most beautiful dresses I've seen recently.

Bummer...

I'm In Love

I spotted these Escada shoes in Vegas:

I do not, however, love the price tag.

Sin City

Las Vegas is just wonderful. I love spending time there.

A lot of people had a hard time believing that I don’t chose to gamble while I’m there. However, as soon as you realize the amazing shopping that exists in Vegas, it’s easy to get why I wouldn’t want to risk my money: just spend it.

One of the shops I wandered into was the brand new H&M. The store just opened this December at the Forum Shops (the world’s largest H&M no less). It was pretty epic.

Complete with flying mannequins...

And a DJ!

And a horse lamp?

The store was so large that I found myself wandering aimlessly for the first couple minutes, just struggling to get a grasp on the layout. Sooner or later though, I just had to jump in.

PS: With all of the beautiful and classy clothes in Las Vegas come a whole lot of bad ones. My friends introduced a game to me that they play in Vegas: FRK (Fashion Road Kill). Pretty self-explanatory. Sit outside a major hotel and observe.
